Mental health has historically been an aspect of salvation neglected by the Christian church. Many think the “shout” and “the laying on of hands” is the end all and be all of deliverance. Although these aspects are essential components of the Christian experience, the daily demands and tragic events of life can usher a person into a cycling state of weariness and cripple mental health. As a result, there exists a need for counselors based in churches throughout the Christian community who can help believers make it through trying times and experience life more abundantly.
Sweet Deliverance Pastoral Care & Counseling Training Program has been raised up by the hand of God to help those called to the Ministry of Counseling answer their call because there is a need for trained, licensed and credentialed Pastoral and Christian Counselors within the Body of Christ. Without such resources, some saints of God will continue to wander around in their personal wilderness for years “saved but not delivered” and deceived into thinking that God is not really enough because “things remain the same” or “seem to get worse.”
